Virtual Program: Sponsored by the Sonoma Valley Historical Society – The Sonoma County Archives

March 13, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Join historian and author Katherine J. Rinehart as she takes us on a visual tour of the endangered Sonoma County Archives, one of four Sonoma County Library special collections. The Archives comprise many of the County’s earliest records, including documents and maps related specifically to the telling of Sonoma Valley’s history.

Katherine is the former manager of the Sonoma County History & Genealogy Library and now serves as co-chair of the Advocates for the Sonoma County Archives. She will share her perspective on how the Archives came to be, its current state, having narrowly escaped destruction by the Nuns Fire in 2017 and the Glass Fire in 2020, and what she and others envision for its future.
